Program Information, Saturday, August 13, 2005, 10 AM—3:30 PM:

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints celebrates the 200th Anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr. and the 175th Anniversary of the organization of the Church.  Many members of the Philippe and Marthe Marie Tourn Cardon family were baptized members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1852 in Italy.  The majority of the family began the trek that would bring them across America to the Utah Territory.

In honor of the Restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we will enjoy listening to Larry C. Porter discuss the papers of the Prophet Joseph Smith.  He will also discuss the papers we should be gathering and preparing for our personal histories to pass to future generations.  We will receive instruction regarding the Official Cardon Family Website.  We will also discuss another *Cardon Family Trip, see details below.   Children’s class will be available in the morning session.

A delicious Lunch of Italian food will be available to purchase for $7.00 per person, with family rates available upon request.  Information and updates on genealogical and temple research will be addressed in the afternoon session.  Literature and other family history packets will be available to purchase.  Opportunities to contribute to the Piedmont Family Organization, (PFO: the research genealogist in Italy that is searching for our ancestors) will also be available.
