ILA M. MOON

HEYBURN - Ila Marie Moon, 83-year-old Heyburn resident, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at her home in Heyburn.

She was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Lewis and Jessie Hendricks Ricks. She spent many years in Bakersfield, Calif., and moved to Heyburn in 1979. She received her Masters degree at San Jose State University, and was a speech pathologist with the Minidoka County school district for several years. She was an active member of the L.D.S. Church. She loved genealogy and was very involved with it since 1958. Ila also enjoyed doing crafts.

She married Keith Eckland Moon on Aug. 3, 1957, in Heyburn. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple.

Survivors include five children, Robert Sanger of California, Donald Wilkins of San Jose, Calif., Diana Wilson of Heyburn, Nancy Jeppson of Provo, Utah, and Richard Moon of Hooper, Utah; 21 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Virginia Hunter of Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Emerson Ward Chapel, 950 W. 125 S., Paul, with Bishop Ted Tateoka officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn.

Friends may call at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral on Friday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Payne Mortuary in Burley.
