HEYBURN - Keith Eckland Moon,
79-year-old Heyburn resident, died Wednesday,
Dec. 10, 2003, at the Cassia Regional Medical
Center in Burley. He was born Aug. 10, 1924, in
Heyburn, the son of Ray Thomas and LaPriel
Nelson Moon.
Keith served in the U.S. Navy during World War
II. He was an active member of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in
many capacities. He served a mission to
Australia and following his retirement he served
a Genealogical mission in North Salt Lake.
He married Ila Marie Ricks on August 3, 1957, in
Heyburn. Their marriage was later solemnized in
the Los Angeles Temple. Keith was a teacher at
Kennedy Junior High in Saratoga, Calif. and at
West Minico Junior High. He enjoyed painting and
wood working.
Survivors include his wife, Ila of Heyburn; five
children, Robert Sanger of California, Donald
Wilkins of San Jose, California, Diana Wilson of
Modesto, California, Nancy Jeppson of Provo,
Utah, and Richard Moon of Hooper, Utah; and
nineteen grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four
brothers, and a daughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday,
Dec.15, 2003, at The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints Emerson Ward Chapel, 950 W.
125 S. of Paul, with Bishop Ted Tateoka,
officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside
Cemetery in Heyburn, with military rites.
Friends may call at the
church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the
funeral on Monday. Arrangements are under the
direction of Payne Mortuary in Burley.
