Leonard Alan Tanner
Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident
Leonard Alan Tanner will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at
the Cortez Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. President
Kirk Peine will be conducting. Interment will follow at the Cortez
Cemetery. Visitation will be at the LDS Church from 8 to 9:15 a.m.
Leonard was born to Halworth and Carmon (Cardon)
Tanner in Farmington, N.M., on March 3, 1943. He passed away at his
home on April 18, 2002, at the age of 59.
Leonard wed Anita Henderson on June 17, 1966, in
Salt Lake City. To this union were born six children.
Leonard joined his father and brothers to operate
the Cortez Milling Company. He was an active member of the LDS
Church. He enjoyed hiking and carpentry. Most of all, he drew great
joy from his eight grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Anita Tanner of
Cortez; children, Natalie (Brent) Smith of Loomis, Calif., Tamara
Lynn (Darrin) Donithorne of Tigard, Ore., Ryck (Andrea) Tanner of
Monroe, Wash., Ryan (Tara) Tanner of Orem, Utah, Brady Tanner of
Provo, Utah, and Tiffany Marie (Kye) Hall of Fort Collins, Colo. He
leaves behind also, his eight grandchildren, Brittany Smith, Jourdan
Smith, Nicole Smith, Sierra Smith, Sydney Donithorne, Janelle
Donithorne, Gavin Donithorne, and Cardon Tanner; and his brothers
and sisters, Trent (Ann) Tanner, Gary (Gwen) Tanner, Linda (Ron)
Enos, and Vicki (John) Dowell. |
