Home Histories Index Family Group (Back) Nathan Forrest StoutNathan Forrest Stout, 56, of Henderson, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2005. He was born Aug. 22, 1948, in Boulder City, and was a lifelong resident. Nathan was the grandson of Frank and Isabel Rants and Walter and Dency Stout, both pioneer families in Southern Nevada. He was employed as a scientific illustrator for the Geo Science Department at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Nathan is survived by his mother, Mary Rants Stout; father, Nathan Lewis Stout, both of Henderson; sister, Janiece Stout Crosland of Las Vegas; brother, Troy Dee Crosland of Las Vegas; and nephew, Gary Nathan Crosland of Gooding, Idaho. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway. Arrangements handled by Palm Mortuary-Henderson. Bettie Jane Rants Lang, 76, of Henderson, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006. Bettie was born April 23, 1929, in Detroit, to Frank Forrest Rants and Isabel Calvin Rants. She was preceded in death by her parents; the absolute love of her life, and husband, of 55 years, Arshel H. Lang; niece, Cindy Rants Turner; and nephew, Nathan Forrest Stout. Bettie is survived by her son, Terrill H. Lang; daughter, Arshelee Lang Davis and her husband, Steve; granddaughter, Staci Davis Perdue; grandson, Jared Allen Davis; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Dale Perdue and Megan Alexis Perdue, who affectionately referred to their great-grandmother as "The Old Grandma"; brother, John Thomas (Jack) Rants and his wife, Dorothy Kine; sister, Mary Rants Stout and her husband, Nathan Lewis; niece, Janice Stout Crosland and her husband, Troy and family; nephew, John Rants and his wife, Connie and family; nephew, Steve Rants and his wife, Linda and family; and nephew, Chuck Rants and his wife, Tammy and family.
